I started boating at age 12 with early years devoted to powerboat cruising and water skiing on inland lakes and rivers. Transitioned into sailing at age 25 beginning with dinghy sailing and racing. Progressed to chartering cruising sailboats, and finally, buying my first cruising boat in 1996. Have traded to larger, newer boats throughout the years, and now have a Hunter 45 Center Cockpit sailing sloop (REVEILLE) (Sail # h45cc) docked at Old Point Comfort Marina, Fort Monroe. My wife, Kathy, and I seldom race but we cruise on the Chesapeake Bay and the sounds and rivers of North Carolina. Our extended cruising includes ranging the Atlantic coast and ICW from New York harbor to southern Florida and the Bahamas.
